Walking to the trail head at Gibbons School

In 1970 the Town of Westborough acquired the Pazo property adjacent to Gibbons Middle School.

In 1974 the Town of Westborough bought the Country Club, including 34 acres designated to be conservation land. The town's Country Club Committee manages this 109-acre parcel. In the mid-1990's the town recognized that the conservation land had never been opened to the public. An ad-hoc committee was created and from its study recommended construction of the present trail from the Country Club parking lot to Mill Road.

Country Club from Trail

As part of the Charm Bracelet trails effort, Robert Panas constructed the trail from Mill Road to Fisher Street in 2001 for his Eagle Scout project. A side trail from this trail was built in 2002 to connect the Gibbons and Armstrong schools to the Mill Pond reservoir and eventually to Mill Pond School at the Headwaters Conservation Area.

A nature trail is planned for the Pazo property adjoining Gibbons School.
